The Gifted appears to be a far more mainstream, action-driven, series than the cerebral insanity of Legion, but that's no bad thing - variety is good.
I welcome all superhero shows with open arms, but wouldn't want them all to be the same.
The trailer certainly suggests The Gifted, inspired by Peter David's X-Factor, exists in the same universe as a version of The X-Men, and we know that recognisable comic book characters do make an appearance in the show (e.g. Emma Dumont as Polaris, Jamie Chung as Blink, and Blair Redford as Thunderbird).
The geek in me hopes it exists in the same universe as the movies, so that there's a chance of a crossover down the line, but as long as the storytellng is good and the action exciting then I don't really mind if it's its own thing.
